Panic

After the strange phone call, where I could only hear weird thumping and shuffling from her end, came the misspelled, barely comprehensible texts...something about that crazy old lady next door that we always joked about being a witch.  

She seemed to ignore every text I sent back.  Finally, I figured out from her disjointed messages that she wanted me to find her on Skype.  

My jaw dropped as her image came up on the screen.  Her hands showed, better than any expression could, how scared she was.
